Wellington Children's Day at the Dell Sunday 7 March Glenmore St, Botanic Garden
Celebrated in other parts of the world since the 1920s, NewZealand children's day was suggested by the first children's commisioner Ian Hassall in 1991. Mr. Hassell's successor Laurie O'Reilly, Barnados and the Rotary Club of wellington developed the idea further and in october 2000, the first children's day was celebrated. In 2007, Lady Susan Satyanand was named the patron of children's day. There will be hundreds of events held around the region, along with several other things parents and guadians can do with children.
The NZI Sevens is one of the eight IRB sevens world series tournaments held around the globe every year. The IRB recently heralded the wellington event as the tournament that sets the world standard for the IRB sevens world series.Party with the unique costume...
