Celebrate Children's Day, He taonga nui a tatou tamariki

Celebrated in other parts of the world since the 1920s, NewZealand children's day was suggested by the first children's commisioner Ian Hassall in 1991. Mr. Hassell's successor Laurie O'Reilly, Barnados and the Rotary Club of wellington developed the idea further and in october 2000, the first children's day was celebrated. In 2007, Lady Susan Satyanand was named the patron of children's day.There will be hundreds of events held around the region,along with several other things parents and guadians can do with children.
